Reason #879...

Reason #879 why I love Steve Pierce.

A few weeks back Steve and I decided to make various ranch, queso & guacamole dips and watch a movie. This was fun, but more than watching No Reservations I thoroughly enjoyed our conversation that evening. Steve sincerely came to me in the kitchen asking if it is bad to have really specific goals and aspirations in life. Definitely caught off guard, I had to ask what he meant. He asked if having the goal of being the Communications Director in the White House was a bad idea because it might be too specific and unrealistic. I had no idea where all this was coming from, so I continued to ask what he meant. I was again reminded of Steve's sincere desire to serve his country, to try to make this country better for future generations, and his dedication to help others and make a difference. His big heart and continual selfless acts always remind me that he really does think that everyone is inherently good -- a quality I think we all can work on a little more.

I am so proud of Steve and the hard worker he is. As if school and work were not enough, he decides to start an online magazine and take on a primary position with a U.S. Senate Campaign. He is the most motivated and ambitious person I know. I am excited to see where life takes us as we head to Washington D.C. in about a year from now. The only thing I am sure of is what Steve reminds me often, someday he will play The West Wing theme song every morning when he gets to work.

Steve with yet another political t-shirt from his collection... the Teddy Roosevelt quote was fitting :)
